Dar (he/they)
Halito/ Hello! My name is Dar and Iām a Two-Spirit Indigenous energy healer from Bulbancha (SE Louisiana).
Growing up, my grandmother Laura was the Chief of the Houma Nationāmy small water-based Tribe located in Southeast Louisiana. Iāve always been immersed in my culture and participated in ceremony with my family. Most notably, my Mama Hilda was a Traiteuseāa Native Cajun Folk healerā and her ability to heal those in our community has always been a great source of inspiration for me. Though she died before I discovered my gifts, the art of healing touch is in my blood.
While I was working on my BA in Gender and Sexuality Studies in 2015, I was introduced to Reiki for the first time. It reminded me a lot of my great grandmotherās practiceāso much so that I became certified that same year. In 2020, during a period of great emotional and physical pain, I got my Reiki Master certification and decided to offer it as a service for the first time. I am living proof that healing is a circleā when we heal others, we heal ourselves.
Since living in NYC, Iāve been able to hone in on my own style of healing that is equal parts ancestral and intuitive. Recently Iāve been expanding into offering reiki in homes/office spaces and Iām excited as to where that will lead.
Energy Healing: These sessions can provide support and relief from any number of issues such as energetic blockages, anxiety, depression, addiction, gender dysphoria. Darās own experiences with these issues inform their practice, and their goal is always to get you back to/ on the path towards perfect alignment. Anyone and everyone are welcome.

Kanako is an experienced acupuncturist with a Master of Science Degree in Acupuncture from the Tri-State College of Acupuncture. She was trained in various acupuncture styles, with a specialized focus in Kiiko Matsumoto Japanese style acupuncture, and Acupuncture Physical Medicine which places an emphasis on trigger point therapy.
Kanako is a second generation acupuncturist, deeply influenced by her upbringing in both China and Japan as well as her mother who was an acupuncturist herself. Acupuncture and other treatments such as āGua Shaā, Cupping, Herbal medicine have always been part of her life and have made her who she was today.
By nature, she is a very loving and compassionate person so she feels that this medicine is her calling in life - āI always wanted to help people in any way I can. When I first moved to NYC 7 years ago from Tokyo, what I found in my encounters is that many people suffer from side effects attributed to environmental pollution, pharmaceuticals and/or complications from a variety of operations. This created a desire to help others with so much more than just their living arrangements, it made me want to follow in my motherās footsteps and study acupuncture and East Asian medicine. ā
Kanako places a priority on making an emotional connection with patients when diagnosing their conditions and formulating a treatment plan. Empathy and understanding are her biggest strengths when making a patient feel comfortable and open to healing.
Outside of the clinic, Kanako spends her time golfing, hiking, mushroom foraging, and connecting with nature.
